Uveitis refers to inflammation of the uveal tract (iris, ciliary body, and choroid) and can also involve surrounding ocular structures like the retina, vitreous, and optic nerve. It is a leading cause of vision loss if left untreated. Uveitis can result from infectious, autoimmune, or idiopathic causes and requires a comprehensive approach to diagnosis and management.

Clinical Presentation

• Redness, photophobia, eye pain, blurred vision, Floaters, scotomas etc.

Diagnostic evaluation

• Slit Lamp Examination 
• Fundoscopy & Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) 
• Fluorescein Angiography (FA)
• Lab Tests & Imaging (if systemic disease is suspected)
  • HLA-B27, ANA, RF (autoimmune workup).
  • QuantiFERON-TB Gold, VDRL/RPR, HIV (infectious workup).
  • Chest X-ray or CT (sarcoidosis, TB).
